Joe Holt

Joe Holt '83 M'98 joined the Washington College President’s Office staff in May 1991.  Over a period of 26 years, he held titles of Vice President for Administration, Executive Vice President, and Chief of Staff.  He coordinated the work of the Board of Visitors and Governors and served as Assistant Secretary of the College.  During the same period, he was called upon at various times to serve as interim Vice President of Finance and interim Vice President of Advancement. 

In March 2017, he transitioned to the Advancement Office where he serves as Executive Director of Institutional Giving and Stewardship.  In this role, his primary responsibilities are to:  establish and execute relationship strategies and fundraising goals for institutional and government grant makers; meet aggressive foundation and government giving goals by increasing the proposal pipeline and size of institutional gifts through critical analysis of research findings leading to the development of strategic cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship approaches; ensure the timely completion of all corporate, foundation and government grant proposals, applications, required reporting, deliverables, and other stewardship activities; establish and execute annual stewardship reporting goals; oversee planned giving support for College Advancement gift officers and communications with those who have documented planned gifts; and provide supervisory oversight of the Associate Director IGS and the Coordinator of Stewardship and Planned Giving.

He retired from his full-time position as Executive Director effective July 6 and will continue as a one-day per week Consultant through December 2023.
